How to File for a US Passport

It’s surprising how many US residents do not have a US Passport, when you want to travel outside of the United States however a US Passport is an essential requirement.

Filing for a US passport is a piece of cake, and in this simple how to guide we will show you how!

1) Pick up an application form, you can find these at your local government offices, or online at the US Gov Website.

2) Get two passport sized photo’s from a registered store.  Be sure to follow the passport photo guidelines to ensure your passport photo’s are accepted.

3) Fill out the passport application you picked up earlier, and remember to attach your two passport photos.

4) You will then need to take your passport application to the nearest passport application agency, or government offices.  Remember to take some form of identification such as an original birth certificate.

5) If you need the passport urgently ask for the expedited service.  This comes with an additional fee, but greatly improves the speed with which your passport application is processed.  You may need further documentation to follow this process.

6) Await your new passport, this can take anything from 6 weeks to three months if you did not request the expedited service.
